A PFP started as a basic profile photo. Then it became my face. Then a brand. Now, it’s a key — and that same profile picture actually proves something real.

You Never Owned Your Social Media Identity

People laugh and say, “You just bought a JPEG.” But the moment your account gets suspended or deleted, the conversation changes. Ten years of messages, contacts, memes, and reputation — gone in an instant. You never actually owned any of it. You were just renting space on someone else’s platform.

Bitcoiners often mock NFTs, and honestly, most NFT projects deserve the criticism. But the good ones tap into the same instinct as running a full node: don’t trust, verify. Don’t hand the final authority over who you are to a corporation.
